The adaptation of the historicist building by F. A. Dvořák from 1890 to suit the needs of the Slavia Insurance Company took place in the early 1930s. The project mainly involved modernizing and unifying the historicist facades of the two neighbouring buildings by replacing the decorative elements with plain architectural elements. The ground floor of the house in Jo tova Street had housed the Bellevue Café since 1913.
