In 1938, several apartment buildings were built in Čápkova Street according to designs by Endré Steiner. These buildings share similar layouts as well as minimalistic facades segmented only by a grid of windows or risalits. The ground floors of these six-level buildings are decorated with ceramic cladding and the narrow entrances are emphasized by travertine panels.
The house at No. 20 was built by Hugo Hecht, for whom Steiner had designed the corner apartment building in Grohova Street a year earlier. The last of the buildings, No. 26, was ordered by František and Hilda Goldmann. The buildings have been preserved in nearly their original appearance, except for replacements of several windows or doors.
