Apartment building

In 1936 Endre Steiner was contacted by Max Ornstein, who ordered a design for an apartment building to occupy his plot in Merhautova Street in the Brno district of Černá Pole. The smoothly plastered facade of the eight-storey building is dominated by a monumental bay stretching over five floors and ending in a small terrace, which currently features an inappropriate roof. Each floor housed two apartments whose residential rooms always looked out on the street, while the kitchen and housemaid's rooms faced the yard. The entrance to the building was clad with polished travertine.
