Anton Jelinek

The son of Brno builder Josef Jelinek Sr., Anton attended Brno’s German technical university and subsequently took over his father’s construction company. During his career, he built a number of apartment houses in Brno. Besides running the construction business, he was also active in politics: he sat on the Brno city council and was the city’s deputy mayor during the First World War. He was named an Imperial Councillor for his public service, and in 1913 he was made an honorary citizen of Brno.
