Václav Dvořák's development activities largely influenced the appearance of Pellicova Street below Špilberk Castle. The houses, set on the Špilberk slope, make use of the graded terrain to increase the number of floors facing south, overlooking gardens and offering views of Old Brno. The houses at Nos. 17 and 19 in Pellicova Street have symmetrical features with large windows lighting the staircase and broken areas of the loggias. The top floors of the buildings are retracted away from the street facade to make room for a wide terrace. However, the insulation that the house at No. 19 has recently received conceals the interesting detail of protruding window frames. The fact that the originally open balconies have been glazed is a major intervention disrupting the original segmentation of the facade.
