Apartment buildings

Builder Václav Dvořák set up his office in the building at 9a Husova Street and had it furnished according to designs by architect Jaroslav Grunt. The original furnishings included carpets designed by sculptor František Kaláb. The facades of the corner house are conceived in a very different manner. While the front facing Husova Street has a respectable character with display windows and balcony; the front towards Pellicova Street is strictly utilitarian. The neighbouring house at No. 1 Pellicova Street served as the surgery and apartment of Otakar Teyschl, an avid art collector who probably also kindled a passion for collecting in Dvořák.
