The distinctive Art Nouveau apartment building stands out among the valuable Art Nouveau buildings on the southern side of náměstí Republiky. Facing the square, the building has two storeys; on the side facing Nováčkova it has three. The similarly composed yet distinct elevations meet at the visually prominent three-storey corner, which is accentuated by a polygonal turret-like oriel. The visually dominant character of this corner section is further emphasized by arched gables on either side of the turret which are decorated with pairs of artificial stone pylons.
The composition of the facades works with a balanced system of verticals and horizontals, with a massive cordon ledge separating the ground floor from the upper floors and pilasters flanking the window bays. This traditional arrangement, a legacy of late historicism, is complemented by distinctive Art Nouveau décor, concentrated primarily in the areas above the windows. The pure geometric Art Nouveau ornamentation is founded on a combination of rough and smooth plaster surfaces and sunken and raised rectangular fields of various sizes, complemented by small square ceramic tiles.
On the ground floor is a shop with an entrance on the corner; on the upper floors are living spaces accessed from a traditional pawlatsch-style gallery. These were for the most part small one-room apartments. The gallery led straight into the kitchen, and from there one could reach the single room overlooking the street. The building has been carefully renovated and is in a well-preserved state.
