Josef Nebehosteny
Studied at Vienna’s Academy of Fine Arts in 1870–1872 and subsequently apprenticed with the builder Paul Wasserburger and in the drafting studio of Fellner & Helmer. Thanks to this practical experience, in 1881 he was named implementing architect for the Municipal Theatre in Brno. In 1883 he was certified as a building contractor and worked as an independent architect. He executed a number of tenement houses and public buildings, either of his own design or in collaboration with other architects. He was also active in public life, serving as first vice-president of the Moravian Industrial Association (1901–1907), president of the Association of Building Entrepreneurs (elected in 1909) and president of the Association of Builders in Moravia and Silesia (elected in 1913).
